Guardian Angel

Thankyou for your interest in the Guardian Angel Knitting Program.

Now in its 10th year, the Guardian Angel Knitting Program was developed by Guardian Pharmacies to encourage Australians to knit warm garments during the winter months for needy children and donate them to their local Guardian Pharmacy. Guardian, in partnership with World Vision work together to distribute these knitted garments to the world’s poorest children and guarantee that all items are delivered to – and received by – children in need. Last year, more than 380,000 garments were distributed to children in Mongolia.

Guardian Pharmacies throughout Australia are encouraging those with knitting talents – or just a generous spirit - to knit woolen clothes and toys and give the gift of warmth and comfort to children who really need it.

The Guardian Angel Knitting Program is free to join. Simply visit your local Guardian Pharmacy between 1 June and 31 August 2008 to pick up your FREE Guardian Angel pattern book and drop off your finished garments at your local Guardian Pharmacy before 31 August.

Use our locator service to find your nearest Guardian Pharmacy, and visit them to collect the Guardian Angel pattern book.  Unfortunately we are not able to mail out any copies of the pattern books, however If there is not a pharmacy in your local area we are happy for you to knit garments from patterns you already have and simply mail them to the Guardian Pharmacy nearest you.

Guardian Pharmacies, in partnership with World Vision, will ensure that each garment is delivered to children in need in the Caucasus region.

We are happy to receive jumpers, pants, beanies, toys, blankets, scarves and your donation will be warmly received whether handed in to the pharmacy or mailed. Garments should be tailored for children aged 2 to 10 years. A sample pattern from the Guardian Angel knitting book can be downloaded simply by clicking on the link below.
