Dry Skin

How does dry skin look and feel?
It is often rough, scaly and itchy. As the skin loses moisture it may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed. The lower legs, backs of the hands and forearms are usually affected.

What causes dry, scaly skin?
Over-washing, hot water, excessive use of soap, dry air, ageing, skin conditions and some medication can increase the risk of dry skin.

What can I do to prevent my skin drying out?
Your Guardian Solution:

  • Use bath oils and moisturisers daily
  • Keep baths and showers short
  • Wash in warm (not hot) water
  • Use a soap substitute
  • Drink eight glasses of water every day
  •  Ask your Guardian Pharmacist about other ways to prevent moisture loss and improve skin conditions.

How can I treat my dry skin?
Your Guardian Solution:
After bathing, while the skin is damp, apply Guardian Sorbolene and Glycerine Cream and Guardian Vitamin E Moisturising Cream. Together these act to soften skin, replace moisture loss and prevent further dryness. Both creams are a great alternative to soap for cleansing or shaving sensitive skin.
