Allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, is a type of inflammation that occurs when your immune system overreacts to allergens in the air.*
More than a quarter of all Australians experience hay fever at some point during the year.~
The symptoms of hay fever may include:
- Sneezing
- Red and itchy eyes
- Irritable throat
Symptom onset is often within minutes of exposure and can affect sleep, ability to work and concentration. Hay fever is generally triggered by environmental allergens such as pollen, pet hair, dust or mould.
If you are affected by hay fever speak to your local Guardian pharmacist who can put together a personalised treatment to help you combat the symptoms of hay fever.
